Undergraduate Research

The School of Computing has a long and distinguished history of high impact research. Each semester, undergraduates engage in faculty supported research, working closely with professors and graduate students. While contributing to cutting edge discoveries, students gain valuable critical thinking and communication skills. These skills, as well as mentoring by a faculty member, benefit undergraduates as they pursue careers in industry or academia.

CS 3020: Research Forum is a 1.0 credit-hour course in which students engage in presentations from faculty discussing research opportunities, as well as problems that remain unsolved in computing.

CS 4940, CS 4970: The Bachelor's Thesis option of the senior capstone requirement is encouraged for students interested in research.
