Through work done in high school or at another university, students may be permitted to transfer credits earned and/or place into advanced courses.

To petition for credit to satisfy computer science degree requirements based on work done outside of the University of Utah:
Locate materials that fully describe the course taken, including:
Verify that your transfer credits have posted to your Degree Audit. If you have a prior degree, you may need to provide a CS academic advisor with a copy of your transcript for verification.
Follow the instructions below for each course to be petitioned:
For Computer Science courses, complete the CS Transfer Course Evaluation Form.
For general education courses, complete the Gen Ed Exception Form.
For math courses, complete the U of U Mathematics Transfer Course Evaluation Form.
For Physics 2210 or 2220, fill out the form at www.physics.utah.edu/tcef, and then followup with ugrad-help@cs.utah.edu after the evaulation is completed.

Note: For the 2019-2020 academic year, Biology 1210 is also accepted.
For Chemistry 1210, complete the Petition for Out-of-State Transfer Chemistry Courses, making sure to include ugrad-help@cs.utah.edu as your Major Advisor's Email.
