Through work done in high school or at another university, students may be permitted to transfer credits earned and/or place into advanced courses in the Kahlert School of Computing (the School).

For a list of all special credits, see the Office of Admissions Special Credit page. Types of special credit include: Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Language Proficiency, Challenge a Course, and U.S.Military Training.
To petition for credit to satisfy School degree requirements based on work done outside of the University of Utah:
Locate materials that fully describe the course taken, including:
Verify that your transfer credits have posted to your Degree Audit. If you have a prior degree, you may need to provide an academic advisor with a copy of your transcript for verification.
Follow the instructions below for each course to be petitioned:
For Kahlert School of Computing courses, complete the Transfer Course Evaluation Form.
For general education courses, complete the Gen Ed Exception Form.
For Math, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry courses, follow these instructions: College of Science Transfer Course Evaluations.
